The BRIDGE (Where We Get Our Name)

Today, we will talk about the reason we are Barlow BRIDGE and Timberworks. For one of our earliest projects, we built a timber-framed bridge. The project was so successful, we made it a part of our name. We look forward to every chance we get to build projects of this scale.

You can see from these pictures how large this bridge is. It was designed in both strength and size to allow for both cars and RVs to drive over it.

From this closer look, you can see the intricate detail and design of the bridge. The bridge is built out of white oak, one of the strongest materials we use. A craftsman's combination of laminated curved supports, short upper braces, and precisely placed posts and beams all fastened in mortise/tenon connections (and bolts where necessary) makes this bridge a excellent display of our work and craft.

Are you considering a large scale timberframe project? We would love to bring our time-tested skill and technique to your project.
