William Davis Jr. Memorial Pavilion in the Lyons View Community

BBT had a wonderful opportunity back in June. We were able to help build the William Davis Jr. Memorial Pavilion in the Lyon's Bend View Community. The pavilion honors the great man that raised his family in the neighborhood, who faithfully worked as a gardener and butler for 60 years in order that his seven children could go on to accomplish more than he was able to in his life. The project was spearheaded by one of his sons, Ron Davis. For more information on the pavilion, just click here. You can see the assembly of our work below!

Mounting our timber posts to the block and brick posts.

Having assembled the main trusses on the ground, we're ready to lift them into place. It's amazing to see the strength of the mortise/tenon/peg technique.

Piecing it all together.

Placing the common rafters.

Finished with the frame!

We were unable to get pictures of the finished work on this project, but to give you an idea of the "final look" of elegance and beauty, take a look at some of our work on a pavilion in Farragut from this summer.
